INDEX TO PAST PAGES (in chronological order)

We have kept all past pages available and re-reading them shows the prognostications have been pretty good, and some were eerily prescient like the prediction of a second attack on the World Trade Center (using a dirty nuclear bomb though rather than airplanes) -- and of course some were wrong, including the prediction that if elected in 2000 GW Bush would be pulled hard to the right by Tom DeLay and Trent Lott, rather than by Karl Rove trying to build a new conservative base.  And while some advice in retrospect seems wise (especially after 9-11) other pages seem less-so, or at least over-wrought (6 pages of quotes on Clinton's lying about sex now seems way too much). But whether wise and insightful or not, the many pages of analysis and hundred's of quotes by both leading commentators and real people in their  letters-to-the-editor give these pages a unique political snapshot of the time... anlong with some humor like

After the 2000 presidential election we decided to give GW Bush the benefit of many doubts, and then as 9-11 pressed all of us to support all of our government officials including the President, we took the unusual step of removing some of the Y2K Election WebPages because they were often critical of GW Bush. But we restored these pages before the 2004 election because they shed light on what was to come, i.e. unfortunately the Bush Campaign's arrogant and factually misleading statements in the days and weeks after the election were but a precursor of his administration, with Son Bush governing as if he had won a mandate, and in full campaign attack mode, and making radical policy changes in so many areas.
